December 26, 6pm to December 31, 3pm
Our annual Winter Stillness meditation retreat is a wonderful opportunity to access the peace, silence, and stillness that is potential in all of us. Living and practicing together as a spiritual community, our efforts support one another on the journey to equanimity.
Our program provides a steady schedule of meditation, open space, ritual and silence. A tradition on this retreat is an end-of-year outdoor fire ritual in which we burn confessions or things we’d like to leave behind. The winter landscape in Aryaloka’s forest and along the Piscassic river allows for contemplative walking and the appreciation of nature. Though this retreat is mostly in silence, there are ocassional periods of instruction, some chanting, and optional meditation interviews.
How are we coming together safely?
—We are requiring that all in-person participants be fully vaccinated vs Covid-19 and will ask for a photo or scan of vaccination cards.
—We are currently wearing masks indoors in all common areas.
—If you have cold or flu symptoms, we ask that you do not attend.
—We have installed new air purifiers with virus-destroying technology!
—We will have the same few people working in the kitchen.
—There are new cleaning and sanitation protocols.
—There will be one-person per bedroom (unless coming from the same household).
—The retreat population will be limited.
*Please let us know if you have questions or concerns about how we’re coming together.
Arrival: although the retreat begins at 6pm on the 26th, you may arrive as early as 3pm that day to settle in. Please let us know if you'll be arriving early. Dinner will be available at 6pm.
